Peter V. Brett

Following college, Peter spent approximately 8 months managing a comic shop and pondering what to do with his life. He then went into medical publishing, squandering ten years of his physical prime sitting in a cubicle. He contented himself with writing books he never hoped to sell. In June of 2007, his hard work and perseverance paid

off, as he sold his 4th novel, THE PAINTED MAN, and in October of 2007, he left his day job to pursue writing full time. Peter’s debut, The Painted Man was the most successful fantasy debut of 2008 and his second book, The Desert Spear charted at number 9 in the Sunday Times bestsellers in 2010. Fans have been chomping at the bit for book three, Daylight War which we are publishing in hardback on 11th Feb next year. He lives in Brooklyn NY with his wife Dani and two cats, Jinx and Max Powers.

James Smythe

James Smythe was born in London and now lives in West Sussex. Since receiving a PhD from Cardiff University, he has worked as both a Creative Writing teacher and as a writer/narrative designer of video games. His debut novel, HEREDITATION, was published as part of Parthian's Bright Young Things series in 2009. His next book, THE TESTIMONY, an apocalyptic thriller about the voice of God and global terrorism, was published in April 2012 by HarperCollins (Blue Door). In December 2012, HarperCollins (Voyager) publishes THE EXPLORER, a science fiction novel in the vein of 2001 and Solaris.

He currently writes a continuing series of articles for The Guardian called ‘Rereading Stephen King’ [http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/series/rereading-stephen-king]. He can be found on twitter @jpsmythe.
