With the British Summer in full swing (yes, it’s pouring with rain!) our thoughts are never far from the delights being planning for SFW9, just seven short months away!

Our team has been working hard behind the scenes, reaching out, contacting and generally nudging everything along in the right direction.

So we’re delighted to announce another star name to join Ingvild Deila (Rogue One), Colin Baker (Doctor Who), Hugh Quarshie (The Phantom Menace, Highlander, Doctor Who), and Alistair Petrie (Rogue One) at the event, that of Christopher Judge, who starred as Teal’c in Stargate SG-1. Christopher has also appeared in Andromeda, Stargate Atlantis, The Mentalist, and as one of Bane’s henchmen in The Dark Knight Rises.

Joining Kevin J Anderson on the Author Track is bestselling writer Steven Savile. Now living and working in Sweden, Steven has written for Doctor Who, Torchwood, Primeval, Stargate, Warhammer, Slaine, Fireborn, Pathfinder, Arkham Horror, Risen, and other popular game and comic worlds. His novels have been published in eight languages to date, including the Italian bestseller L'eridita. Silver, his debut thriller, was one of the UK's top 30 bestselling novels of 2011 according to The Bookseller. The series continues in Crucible, Solomon's Seal, WarGod, Lucifer's Machine, Shining Ones and Argo, all published by Snowbooks, and is available in a variety of languages.

His latest novels include Parallel Lines, a bank heist novel, Glass Town (described by Jonathan Maberry as ‘mind-bending, devious and thoroughly entertaining’) and Coldfall Wood, and he is currently working on Lost Heroes, a roleplaying campaign in the incredibly popular Trudvang world of Draken & Demoner published by RiotMinds in Sweden. With Steven joining us, we’re delighted to also welcome publisher Snowbooks who will be launching the first in a brand new fantasy series, Bones of Empire, written by Steven and Aaron Rosenberg, possibly with fanfares, clowns, jugglers and dancers, but almost certainly with drinks, at the event.

Telos Publishing will also be hosting a launch for the superb debut horror novel, Diviner, from Dawn Harris, an author whose work has been described by Ramsey Campbell as ‘a psychic nightmare that gives us uncanny glimpses of the truth and snares us with a web of mystery before revealing the dark side of a favourite myth’, and by Graham Masterton as ‘the debut of a shining and unusual new writing talent’. Dawn will also be appearing at the event.

More authors, guests and artists will be announced as they are confirmed for the event, and as with SFW9, there will be a full and packed schedule of events taking place from the Thursday afternoon to late Saturday night/Sunday morning. You just know it’s where you want to be in March 2018!

SFW takes place at Camp SFW, Pwllheli, North Wales, UK on 22nd - 25th March 2018. To book one of the last few remaining rooms or boarding passes either do so online at www.scifiweekender.com or call Dan on 0207 193 0490
